TESTING OF PV-MODULES USING CHARACTERISTIC CURVE MEASUREMENT
In order to detect possible error sources in the photovoltaic system, characteristic curve measurement can be used. By measuring the characteristic curve of individual photovoltaic modules or entire module strings, we can detect faulty interconnected solar modules, defective bypass diodes or defective PV modules.
ON-SITE CHARACTERISTIC CURVE MEASUREMENT
In order to perform a meaningful characteristic curve measurements on site, constant sunlight is required. This should be at least 800W/m². Disassembly of the solar modules is not necessary.
Should it not be possible to do a characteristic curve measurement on site, ENVARIS can examine individual PV modules by means of a flash tests. However, this would require dismantling solar modules and transporting them to our test centre where we can examine the photovoltaic modules under standard testing conditions by using a sunlight simulator.
